GrepBoard Tools is a set of static pages. There are no accounts, comments or forms that send data to a server.

What you type into a tool

Expressions, numbers and dates you enter are calculated only in your browser. They are not sent to a server and are not passed to the analytics or advertising on this site. A link made with the “Copy link” button carries the input after # in the address; browsers do not send that part to the server, and the visitor statistics receive only the part before #.

What is stored in your browser

Theme choice. When you switch between dark and light, the choice is kept in your browser's local storage and in a cookie named gb_theme set for grepboard.com, so the same theme applies on grepboard.com and its sub-domains (log, tools). The cookie holds only light or dark.
Visual style and time zone. The style you pick (gb.style) and a tool's time zone choice are kept only in this site's local storage.

Visitor statistics

This site uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which tools are used. Google Analytics sets cookies and receives your IP address, browser and the address of the page you view (the part before #). You can block it with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on or by blocking cookies; the tools work the same either way.

Advertising

When advertising is enabled, Google AdSense shows ads in the right-hand column and at the end of the description on tool pages — never between the input and the result. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other sites. You can turn off personalised ads in Google Ads Settings, and read how Google uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

GrepBoard Log

log.grepboard.com is a separate site. It reads the log files you give it inside your browser; that page is not allowed to make network requests and has no analytics or ads.

Hosting

The site is served by Cloudflare, which processes standard request information (such as IP address and user agent) to deliver and protect the service.
